4G - LTE Networks
Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology is emerging as the next generation wireless technology of choice that will lead the growth in mobile broadband services in the next decade.

With over 180 operators globally investing in LTE, it has the potential to create economies of scale unprecedented by any previous generation of wireless network technology as it becomes the universal 4G mobile platform used by both GSM/HSPA and CDMA/EVDO service providers.

LTE is critical to delivering lower cost per bit, high performance connectivity, and the subscriber experience needed to address the challenges of mobile broadband; such as, growth in devices, data intensive services, and the introduction of new machine to machine (M2M) applications.

To be a significant contributor to end to end service creation and enrich the subscriber experience, the LTE network must support higher data rates, ensure service continuity and parity of existing 3G services, and support the rollout of new 4G services. It must also leverage existing 3G infrastructure investments and enable innovative service plans. The LTE Evolved Packet Core (EPC) plays an important role in meeting these challenges.

Amdocs provides market-leading LTE EPC solutions to manage mobile data applications, subscribers, and devices in real-time and delivers a dynamic and personal subscriber experience across all wireless access networks.

The Amdocs EPC 500 is a pre-integrated system combining key LTE functionality such as the Amdocs Home Subscriber Server, the Amdocs Policy Controller, and Amdocs' Subscriber Data Broker for LTE networks. EPC 500 is an integrated control plane-in-a-box solution specifically designed to meet the needs of LTE trial deployments and small- to mid-sized commercial launches.

Ingredients

Amdocs EPC 500
Amdocs EPC 500 is an integrated LTE system specifically designed to support LTE lab trials, field trials, and small- to medium-scale commercial deployments, the EPC 500 features the Amdocs Home Subscriber Server (HSS) and Policy Controller (PCRF), anchored by Amdocs' Subscriber Data Broker™.

Amdocs Home Subscriber Server
Amdocs Home Subscriber Server is the master repository that contains subscriber and device profile and state information and supports authentication, authorization and mobility management functions in LTE.

Amdocs Policy Controller
Amdocs Policy Controller povides real-time network, application, and subscriber policy control to manage mobile data growth and deliver personalized services, supports 3GPP standards including R7, R8, and R9, and functions as the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) required in LTE EPC networks.

Amdocs Subscriber Data Broker™
Amdocs' Subscriber Data Broker is a carrier-grade, subscriber data management solution bringing together rich subscriber data such as location, context, profile and usage with the sophisticated tools to broker that data to multiple systems and applications to personalize services.
