Redefining the Data Experience
On August 17, 2011, Bridgewater Systems was acquired by Amdocs.
This acquisition brings significant and unique value to service providers around the world. By combining the companies’ respective competencies— Amdocs’ customer experience and charging solutions with Bridgewater’s subscriber management and intelligent broadband control assets—Amdocs will be the first and only vendor in the market to:
- Improve the customer experience by uniquely providing a holistic view across devices, customer hierarchies, and networks to deliver innovative data experience solutions and new revenue streams for service providers such as M2M;
- Maximize data services revenues through a range of personalized offerings and real-time value-based charging models; and
- Optimize the delivery of services that bridge network and IT domains for improved time to market.
The acquisition validates the strategic importance of policy in data services and, in particular, for monetization. It expands the role of policy outside of the traditional network domains to now include CRM and other revenue management domains—and increases the overall addressable policy market.
Policy is central to the customer experience and—with Bridgewater’s comprehensive intelligent broadband control portfolio, which includes the Service Controller (AAA), Policy Controller (PCRF), and Home Subscriber Server (HSS)—Amdocs will be the first and only company to offer a complete solution that uniquely bridges the customer experience across IT and network domains. |
