Amdocs Intelligent Routing Controller (IRC)
As operators transform their networks and introduce Diameter-based network elements such as online charging systems and PCRF and HSS solutions, the management and scalability of 3G and 4G networks become harder to manage without a centralized and intelligent routing framework. In addition, roaming and charging interfaces in the LTE network are diameter based and it becomes critical to have a single point of entry between visiting and home networks for functions such as KPI monitoring, network hiding, and to manage complex peering agreements.
Amdocs offers an Intelligent Routing Controller (IRC) that provides a flexible and robust solution for 3G/4G/IMS control plane connectivity and routing needs. The IRC enables centralized functions such as - load balancing across cluster of applications, routing user requests to the appropriate elements, and binding different protocol interfaces corresponding to a subscriber.
By centralizing Diameter signaling, routing and load balancing tasks, the control plane can scale to meet the growth of LTE and IMS networks incrementally and cost effectively.
Why Amdocs IRC?
- Tight alignment and support of intelligent broadband controls solutions – Amdocs Policy Controller, Amdocs Home Subscriber Server, and 3GPP AAA – to manage large deployments
- Performance tuned blade server / rack mount hardware for achieving stable and leading performance to support high transaction growth
- Extensible to support standards based and proprietary extensions
- Broad standards support of various HSS and PCRF interfaces - pre-integrated for interoperability assurance
- Available as a standalone product or embedded as an optional module within Policy Controller or Home Subscriber Server
