Ed Ogonek, Vice President, Data Experience BU
Ed Ogonek joined Bridgewater Systems Corporation in May 2004 as its president and CEO, bringing more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications, data networking and network/service management. Before joining Bridgewater Systems, Ed held the position of senior vice president and general manager of metro and enterprise solutions for CIENA. Prior to CIENA, Ed was president and chief executive officer of Akara Corporation, which was acquired by CIENA in August 2003. Ed's prior experience includes key executive and general management positions at Newbridge Networks, Alcatel, British Telecom and Bellcore. Ed received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from John Carroll University and a master's degree in operations research from Case Western Reserve University.

 

Kim Butler, Vice President BU Operations
Kim Butler is responsible for finance, administration, and legal affairs at Bridgewater Systems. Before joining Bridgewater, Kim was segment controller at ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) for the Power Generation Segment, with her prime focus on large project financing. She was also employed as director of finance for Flakt Canada and with Mitel Corporation in various finance roles for nine years. Kim graduated from Carleton University with a bachelor of commerce degree and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
  David L. Sharpley, Vice President, Business & Products 
David Sharpley is responsible for leading the Data Experience Business Unit Business and Products team. This global mandate includes the integrated go-to-market functions of sales, sales engineering, marketing, product management and channel activities to support an extensive set of Data Experience offerings including network control products and Amdocs’s new Data Experience Solution. David has extensive OSS/BSS industry experience having spent the last 3 years as Bridgewater Systems’ senior vice-president responsible for Marketing, Product Management and Channel Sales and previously within the Communications Global Business Unit at Oracle Corporation where he led the global marketing, product marketing and alliance partnerships. David joined Oracle through the acquisition of MetaSolv Software, where he was instrumental in building and positioning the firm as an OSS software leader. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Carleton University and an International MBA from the University of Ottawa.

  Eamonn Garry, Vice President, Strategic Programs & Advanced Technology
Eamonn Garry joined Bridgewater Systems in October 2005 and is responsible for defining the company’s overall technology strategy as well as the application of this strategy for key customers such as Verizon. Prior to this position, he lead a highly experienced and talented Bridgewater engineering team tasked with developing innovative, high-quality, and market-leading solutions for the company. Eamonn brings extensive engineering and management experience as well as in-depth technical knowledge to the company and prior to joining Bridgewater spent more than 14 years at Nortel, where he held numerous positions, including heading the GSM, GPRS, and EDGE development team spread between Canada, France, and India. Key roles during this time included heading up UMTS and GPRS system integration, leading to the accomplishment of many industry firsts, and software architecture management and definition for the DMS line of products. Prior to Nortel Eamonn was with Analog Devices where he worked extensively on the development and testing of CMOS devices. Eamonn is a graduate of University College Dublin in Ireland, with a bachelor's degree in hardware and embedded systems design.

Gary Knee, Vice President, Engineering & Operations
Gary Knee joined Bridgewater Systems Corporation in February 2010 as Senior Vice President , Engineering and Operations, bringing more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications leading Product Development and Customer Support teams. Before joining Bridgewater, Gary held the position of Vice President, Research and Development for Redknee, Inc. Prior to Redknee Inc, Gary led engineering organizations at Nimcat Networks, SS8 Networks, and Lantern Communications. Gary’s career in telecommunications started at Nortel Networks where he held progressively more responsible positions culminating as Director, Research and Development of the Access Networks Division. Gary received a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa and a Diploma of Electronic Engineering Technology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Gary is also an active board member of Virtual Marine Technology, a private firm based in St. John’s Newfoundland.
